I think the DeLorean panels are 400-series SS. Which, while corrosion resistant, would not be absolutely 100% salt-proof day in, day out - you'd need something like 304 or 316 for that.

I am reliably informed that a great-great however many uncle or relation went to work for Boulton & Watt (William Murdoch, IIRC) with a lathe-turned top hat made of wood. This is a long-winded way of saying I need a top hat and cigar.
Also the beard was last week.
